Diner en Blanc

A touch of Paris and a whole lot of class is coming to the Bay with Diner en Blanc brought to you by the team at Little Big Events and Kim Cleland.

For one night only on Saturday March 18th ‘picnic goers’ dressed head to toe in white will be taken to a top secret location and enjoy a glamorous summer evening feasting with hundreds of strangers in a Parisian styled picnic.

So, where did this crazy idea come from? In 1988, the first official Dîner en Blanc took place in the Parc de Bagatelle in the Bois de Boulogne, started by a man named François Pasquier, who invited a few friends to the Bois de Boulogne one day in June on his return to France after being abroad. To find each other in the park, they all wore white. The dinner was such a success that they decided the next year, each person would invite some other friends and the event grew organically. It is now a global phenomenon-taking place all over the world!

The rules – everyone must wear white, bring dinner in a picnic basket, chairs, tables, and champagne. You must dress your table and you must share food around you!

So what to wear to this fashionable feast? Head to toe white is something more associated with European style glamour so bringing this to New Zealand we can all step out of our comfort zone. Grab a pair of Camilla & Marc Jonquil Pants & pair it with the Camilla & Marc Melrose Top for an easy all in one outfit and team it with the new Kathryn Wilson Courtney Loafer.

Or if this isn't your style opt for Camilla & Marc Stevie skinny jean with an Camilla & Marc off the shoulder shirt or the Bassike Drawstring Long Shirt or the Bassike Shell Top.

The choices are endless – it just takes a bit of daring and imagination  - bon appétit!!!!
